missing the Master's comprehensive exam

I'm in my room studying with my friend, Brandon.

We got new desks just so we can be ready and study for the comprehensive exam. Brandon leaves the room to do something and a friend from my undergraduate comes in. I haven't seen him in so long and we're catching up. He's married and happy! I'm so happy for him.

Then I look at the time on my computer. The exam is supposed to be at 9. That can't be right. The clock says 8:59. I put my face closer to the computer screen and the numbers are blurry. I can't see what the time is. I'm in shock. Brandon comes back in the room and I tell him we're missing the comp.!! I don't even feel prepared, I haven't studied anything! I'm going in to the exam blindly!

I panic but get out of my PJ's and get dressed really quickly. Brandon's scrambling to get his bag pack and jacket.

And then... I wake up.

eating with corpses

It's my friend's birthday and I'm surrounded by about 4-6 girls trying to figure out where we're going for my friend's birthday. We've decided that we're going to go wherever she wants.

We're walking around and we finally find the place. She's at the door waiting for us. It's this Asian nightclub. I immediately tell her I don't want to go and we should go somewhere else more fun. She wants to dance here. Because it's her birthday, I agree to go in. I follow other people in and we realize that one of the rooms is specially reserved for this other Asian girl's birthday. Everyone looks at us weird, as if we've intruded their party. We go into another room where there are 2 tables and a corpse on each table. They're just laying there. They were apparently related to my friend. This is not at all weird. No one is freaked out. I feel kind of awkward and uncomfortable that we're about to eat at a table where a dead person is laying there, but this is normal... everyone does this when their family members just pass away.

I pick my seat and it's by one of the corpse's feet. I move my plate a little bit as I'm getting ready to sit down for her birthday dinner.

And then... I wake up.

failing the Master's comprehensive exam

I just took the Master's comp. and I'm at my house with my sister and parents.

My sister asks me if I'm sure I completed all the questions and if I failed or not. I tell her, "Of course I answered everything." But then, I remember... I remember that I skipped an entire question. I answered 3 out of 4 questions and just completely skipped a question. I can't believe I did that! And then I recall that on one of the questions, I didn't even cite or reference any authors.

I failed... I can't believe I failed the exam. I'm in shock and have this horrible feeling in my stomach.

And then... I wake up.

saved by umbrella

I get dropped off by a taxi around the corner of what is supposed to be my house. I'm walking down a really dark alley late in the night and I realize that I'm one street off of where my house is.
I keep walking down this alley though trying to make sure this isn't my street and checking the doors to see if it's mine. As I come closer to the corner, a man comes out and is holding pepper spray. We both get startled by one another and realize we're both being careful about our surroundings. That's when I get out my umbrella and try to look for my pepper spray in my bag pack. Unfortunately, I can't find it attached to my keys and I realize I must have left it at home.
I go around the corner down another street and go into someone else's house. This isn't my house. I tell these occupants that I don't really want to go into my house by myself. They leave the room for a minute and I realize there's someone else in there. They were getting robbed and had either gotten home too early or hadn't left yet. This man comes towards me and I try and yell for help but nothing comes out. I get my umbrella and hit him with it.

He's startled and I run for the door, which is locked. He stops me and tells me not to run outside but I unlock the door anyway and run outside. He's coming after me when I start yelling "Help! Someone help!". The neighbors are right next door and they ask me, "What's wrong?", I tell them the guy behind me is trying to rob the house and was trying to hurt me. They don't seem to panic. I turn around and the robber is talking to 3-4 people calmly. He's trying to persuade them to believe I'm crazy and he wasn't trying to rob the house. Thankfully, 1 of the women knows what he's doing and calls the cops. The cops come and arrest him.

I'm shaken and my boyfriend and his family arrive on the scene. I'm so scared and don't know whether this is a dream or not.

And then... I wake up.

house in France

My family and I have arrived to our old house in France. It's like no one has touched it for all these years and we were back to either move back into it or live in it for summer. I'm so excited to be back! The house is structured a little differently but I don't notice the difference. I look outside the living room window and see my backyard, just as it used to be, except the grass is a little taller. I want to go outside and play but I want to take a picture of it first.

I get out my camera but for some reason, the picture that's showing up on the screen is on what's behind me. My camera's facing forward toward the backyard but it's as if my camera is facing directly behind me at my dining room table. I accidentally break a piece of the border around the window so I set my camera back down. I try to fix it before going out but it's taking me forever.

Then, a fake Santa Claus and his sleigh go through one part of our house to the outside where there's apparently a park or some sort of outdoor mall where all these kids are ice skating. I go outside and it's snowing!!! There's snow covering all of my backyard now.
My parents are sitting outside on a bench watching people make snowmen.

And then... I wake up.

elementary school present time

I'm sitting down in my homeroom classroom at my elementary school back in West Covina. The desks are set up differently and one classroom is connected to the next door classroom a little differently but I see my old classmates. I'm sitting at a table with one of my Master's classmate but everyone else is my classmate from elementary school.

I tell myself how odd it is that everyone is back and looks exactly the same, a little older, but still looking the same. I'm catching up with people and telling them what a great coincidence it is that we are all in the same class after all these years. I'm surprised people didn't move away or are still in school. I look around and recognize everyone. Everyone's names comes to me as if I had seen them yesterday.

I look over at the next door classroom because the door is open and my homeroom teacher is there. He looks exactly the same as when I last saw him. I can't believe it, he hasn't even aged!

Someone slips me a note and tells me that it's from my old homeroom teacher. He wants to meet with me after school without anyone knowing. Somehow I know that his intentions are more than just catching up about the good old times when I was his student. I feel disgusted and want to tell the director or whoever is in charge of the school but I don't want my old homeroom teacher to get into trouble.

And then... I wake up.
